Oil "Goyko and the Turqouise Goddess" 36 x 48

This is a painting of Cho Oyu, sixth highest mountain in the world (26,906') and known to the Tibetans as the "Turqouise Goddess". I and three friends climbed the peak in 1997 from the Tibetan side. The mountain sits on the border between Nepal and Tibet and this view is of the South face in Nepal. The village of Gokyo (15,000') is nestled below along the Ngozumpa glacier and on the shore of one of the five Gokyo lakes. It is a beautiful spot and one of my favorite places to take trekking groups.
